Las Vegas FOX affiliate KVVU has announced the promotion of Ted Pretty to chief meteorologist.

“For more than a decade meteorologist Ted Pretty has brightened your mornings as part of the FOX5 morning news team,” said news director Adam Bradshaw in a statement. “Tonight, Ted takes a major step in his career as he becomes the chief meteorologist for FOX5.”

Pretty joins John Huck and Olivia Fierro on the station’s 5:00, 6:00, 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. news.

Bradshaw also announced Cassandra Jones will take Pretty’s place on the station’s morning show.

“Cassandra joined the FOX5 family last week after a successful run as a weather anchor on the central California coast,” said Bradshaw. “She is passionate about the weather and looks forward to keeping you and your family safe and informed as we head into the winter months.”

Jones came to KVVU from Santa Maria, CA, where she worked for KION-KCBA in the Salinas-Monterey market and KCOY-KKFX in Santa Maria.
