Laff Drops Roseanne

Comedy over-the-air subchannel Laff has dropped re-runs of Roseanne following ABC’s decision to cancel the reboot of the hit sitcom.

ABC’s decision to cancel Roseanne earlier today followed star Roseanne Barr‘s offensive tweet about Valerie Jarrett, the former adviser to Pres. Obama.

“We are disgusted by Barr’s comments this week. Therefore, we are removing the original Roseanne series from the Laff schedule for the time being, effective immediately,” Laff said in a statement.

Laff, which is owned by Scripps subsidiary Katz Broadcasting, features sitcoms including That ‘70s Show, Home Improvement, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Drew Carey Show, and Night Court, among others. Laff aired four Roseanne episodes back-to-back every weeknight.

Leading up to the return of Roseanne reboot in March, Laff presented “Roseanne Family Favorites Week” which featured the cast handpicking and hosting their favorite episodes.

Laff is available in 153 TV markets, including on all ABC O&Os, Scripps stations, and several Cox and Meredith stations.
