Danielle “Dannie” Raines plead not guilty in a Pasadena court Wednesday to a charge of felony assault likely to produce great bodily injury, reports the Los Angeles Times.

According to the L.A. District Attorney’s Office, Raines, the wife of KABC meteorologist Dallas Raines, is charged with assaulting and at one point attempting to strangle the couple’s 25-year-old daughter while the daughter was driving Danielle home after the two had been drinking at a country club.

From The Times:

Deputy Dist. Atty. Jodi Taksar alleged in a statement that Raines beat the victim once parked on the side of the road and attempted to strangle her daughter.

Sherriff’s deputies arrested Raines about 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 31, according to jail records. After posting $30,000 bond, Raines was released from custody about 2:30 p.m. that day, jail records show.

If convicted, Raines faces up to four years in state prison.

Dallas Raines marked 30 years with KABC in June 2014.
