Kyle Kraska, Calling Recovery ‘A Miracle,’ Will Return to Anchor Desk

By Mark Joyella

Kyle Kraska, the KFMB sports anchor who was shot outside his San Diego home last month, will anchor sports Wednesday evening, his first time back on the anchor desk since the shooting. “I am so excited to tell you that I will be returning to the desk at CBS-8 tomorrow (Wednesday) to do what I love the most, delivering you your evening Sportscast,” Kraska wrote on Facebook. He said he plans to anchor through Friday, then return to work full time starting Monday.

Kraska said he would take time on the newscast to thank some of the people who saved his life, and helped him recover:

4 weeks ago today I was very nearly killed after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. But thanks to many brave, talented and selfless individuals my life was saved. And thanks to many of you, through prayers and words of encouragement that inspired me daily, my recovery to this point has been nothing short of a miracle. I can never thank you enough for that.
