By Kevin Eck

This morning, KXAN, the LIN Media owned Austin NBC affiliate, launched a morning show airing on the Austin CW affiliate KNVA.

While KXAN’s morning news currently goes from 4:30 a.m. until 7:00 a.m., the newscast on KNVA runs from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and is anchored by the KXAN morning news team of Brian Sanders, Sally Hernandez, traffic reporter Amanda Dugan and meteorologist Mark Monstrola.

“We genuinely like each other,” Hernandez told the Austin American-Statesmans Gary Dinges. “It’s going to be nice to have this extra time together.”

“Our commitment to our audience is growing,” KXAN news director Chad Cross told TVSpy. “We know the busiest time of the morning for many of our viewers is 7:00 to 9:00.  It only makes sense we continue to provide valuable, local coverage of what’s happening each morning that could affect the start of your day.”
