Frank Volpicella is leaving Austin ABC affiliate KVUE.
Volpicella is taking a voluntary buyout from station owner TEGNA.
He told TVSpy he’s “been very blessed” to have been at the station for more than 15 years. His last day is Friday April 22.

He started his career at WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida and went on to work as a producer at KWTV in Oklahoma City, WTSP in Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla. and WSB in Atlanta. His first job as a news director was at WTVQ in Lexington, Ky. He then moved to WAFF in Huntsville, Ala. before joining KVUE in August 2000 as executive news director.
This announcement comes two weeks after KVUE GM Patti Smith announced she is leaving the station.
