KVOA, KMIZ alum Savannah Guthrie makes debut as co-anchor on ‘Today’

Ann Curry’s promotion to the co-anchor chair on the “Today” show created opportunities for Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie. Morales is now news anchor, while Guthrie co-hosts the third hour of “Today.” After college Guthrie made stops at Columbia, MO ABC affiliate KMIZ and Tucson’s KVOA, but left local news to go to law school. She returned to TV not long after graduation, landing at Court TV and later NBC News where she was White House correspondent and co-anchor of MSNBC’s “Daily Rundown.”
