KVII Adds Travis Ruiz as Assistant News Director

Travis Ruiz has been named assistant news director at KVII in Amarillo, Tx.

This is a return to KVII for Ruiz, who comes to the ABC affiliate from KXRM in Colorado Springs where he was the interactive managing editor and social media manager. According to his station bio, Ruiz was in charge of social media WHILE at KVII and anchored the 9:00 p.m. newscast.

“Those of you who know me know that newsroom management is what I’ve been working toward and I can’t think of a better place to start that journey,” Ruiz wrote on his facebook page.
