KUSA Meteorologist Leaves After 13 Years

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Becky Ditchfield has been a staple on KUSA since 2007.

The beloved Denver meteorologist is known for her forecasts—and for not letting pregnancy shamers get away with cyberbullying.

But she said the time has come for her to leave TV.

“This was a very difficult decision for me, one I did not take lightly. I’ve spent 18 years in the news business, 13 at 9NEWS,” Ditchfield wrote on her Facebook page. “I love being a meteorologist, and I love working in a creative environment, but I want that to look different as I move forward. I have some ideas, but at this time I’m purposefully leaving my options open.”

Ditchfield is staying in the area for now and asked viewers to keep up with her on social media.

“To everyone who has watched, thank you for allowing me into your homes for all these years,” Ditchfield said. “My family has no immediate plans to leave Colorado; you’ll still see me around. Plus, I’ll be keeping my social media pages updated, so you can see what I’m up to!”
