KTTV Names New News Director

KTTV-KCOP, the Fox duopoly in Los Angeles, Calif., has hired a new news director.

Erica Hill-Rodriguez comes from Seattle, Wash. where she was the news director for the Fox-affiliate KCPQ-KZJO and KRCW in Portland, Ore.

“I am truly honored to join the FOX 11 news team in delivering important journalism and relevant content to the audiences of the greater Los Angeles area. I look forward to helping lead a team that aims to make a difference in the lives of our local audience,” said Hill-Rodriquez.

Hill-Rodriguez rose through the ranks at KCPQ, she started as senior assignment editor. Prior to that, she worked as a field producer and assignment editor at WBBM, the CBS station in Chicago, Ill.

“Our focus at KTTV is to give Southern California viewers better journalism, and Erica is a journalist’s News Director. She brings an outstanding record of success at KCPQ and a sterling reputation as a leader, visionary, and strategic thinker. I am delighted she is joining our team,” said vice president and general manager Bill Lamb.

She will start her new role on Dec. 9.
