KTTV morning anchor Tony McEwing expects to be off the anchor desk for several weeks due to medical treatment.
Writing on Facebook, McEwing said “an issue has arisen that requires medical attention and up to several weeks recovery before I can return to work.”
McEwing said KTTV anchor Bob DeCastro would be filling in during the medical leave, and thanked viewers for their “love and support,” saying “I will miss you and look forward to getting back into the swing of things as soon as possible.”

McEwing anchors the 4:30 a.m., 5, 6 and 10 a.m. newscasts.
