KTRK’s Tim Melton Recovering From Stroke

By Merrill Knox

KTRK weekend sports director Tim Melton, who has not been on the air since October, announced yesterday that he suffered a stroke last fall.

“I thank all of you who have expressed your concern as to what caused my absence, but I wanted to wait until I had a good sense of what the future holds before saying anything,” Melton wrote on Facebook. “I’m happy to report I’m getting better every day.”

Melton did not specify when he will return to the station. KTRK hired Hugh Lewis to fill in for Melton in December, according to Houston media blogger Mike McGuff.
