Angelenos can now get KTLA news briefs using Alexa.

The Tribune-owned station announced the collaboration with the Amazon voice-activated device this week. Viewers can get updates using the flash briefing feature.

“KTLA5 is Southern California’s No. 1 source for local news coverage, and the addition of Amazon Alexa and our podcasts allows the station to reach a broader audience and provide added content for our loyal viewers,” said Don Corsini, KTLA’s president and general manager.

The Los Angeles station is also launching three new weekly podcasts: The News Director’s Office, Frank Buckley Interviews and Spoken Dreams.

“In the tradition of KTLA, we are always expanding our audience, this time with audio products. Podcasting continues to grow and is an exciting way to connect with listeners on a more personal level. And, integrating our content with a product like Alexa makes our brand even more accessible,” said Jason Ball, vice president and news director of KTLA.

The News Director’s Office is hosted by Jason Ball. It will explore topics and issues facing journalists and the news gathering process.

Frank Buckley is the co-anchor of the KTLA morning news. His podcast, Frank Buckley Interviews, goes one-on-one with newsmakers, celebrities and everyday people. He has interviewed more than 100 people so far.

Spoken Dreams is hosted by KTLA producer Bobby Gonzales. He shares stories about making it in Hollywood. It airs every Monday.
