KTEN Hires KXII News Director as GM

By Andrew Gauthier

Veteran news director Anthony Maisel has been named general manager of KTEN, the NBC-affiliate serving the Sherman, TX-Ada, OK market.

Maisel comes to the Lockwood Broadcast Group-owned station from market rival KXII, where he served as news director.  Prior to KXII, Maisel spent nine years leading the news department at KDAF in Dallas.

“Anthony has been an inspiring and innovative leader throughout his career,” said Gerald Walsh, vice president of Lockwood Broadcast Group.  “His passion for delivering the best news product on all platforms, elevating our community involvement, and leading the station and its clients to sales success is exciting and contagious.”

Maisel replaces Craig Marrs, who left KTEN earlier this year to become GM at KMIR-KPSE in Palm Springs.

“Living in Texoma is a delight, and facing challenges with the top notch KTEN staff makes it that much better,” Maisel said, referring to the northern Texas-southeastern Oklahoma region. “The foundation is here, and our job as a team is to improve every day. I’m confident everyone will rise to the challenge.”

No word yet on who will replace Maisel as KXII’s news director.
