KSNW Names New Chief Meteorologist

KSN-TV has named chief meteorologist Dave Freeman’s replacement.

Wichita native, Lisa Teachman, will step into the role across the station’s broadcast and digital platforms. Freeman retired last week after 24 years at the station.

“Lisa Teachman is an Emmy Award-winning meteorologist who has a long-term record of success in the field and we are proud to welcome her back to the KSN team, said Steve South, vice president and general manager.

Teachman began her broadcasting career in 1996 at the Nexstar-owned station where she Freeman’s meteorology intern.

She went to Wichita State University and Mississippi State University before joining weather teams in the Huntington, WV, Baltimore, MD, and Kansas City, MO.

Teachman will join the KSN team for the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts in late June.
