KSL Anchor Mike Headrick Tells Viewers Why He’s Been Off Air Since August

KSL anchor Mike Headrick has been absent from the Salt Lake City NBC affiliate’s evening newscasts, leaving some viewers to wonder where he is.

Headrick shot a video from the station’s studio, letting viewers know that he had a full shoulder replacement in August.

He said surgery went well and his new shoulder feels fantastic. He also said there have been a couple of unforeseen side-effects that have prevented him from anchoring the last four weeks. Headrick has a slight paralysis of his tongue, causing him to slur his words.

He said the bottom line is that he’s in good shape and he’s just waiting for his tongue to “be 100% great” before he returns.
