Scott Rates has been named assistant news director at Bonten Media-owned Redding, Calif. ABC and Fox affiliate KRCR-KCVU.
Rates has worked as a reporter at KRON in San Francisco since October 2012.
Before that, he worked at WFTV and also WKMG in Orlando, Fla.
