Dan Thorn has been promoted to weekend evening anchor at Nexstar’s San Francisco station KRON.
Thorn has been reporting at KRON since 2018. On social media, he’s “loved every second” of living and working in the Bay Area.
“I’m so humbled by my co-workers and managers for their kind words and support,” he wrote.
“Since joining KRON4 back in 2018, Dan has been one of our go-to breaking news reporters during fires, storms and just about everything else,” news director Josh Palefsky wrote in an email to staff obtained by TVSpy. “His positivity in the newsroom and passion for telling Bay Area stories will be a great addition to our already strong weekend newscast lineup.”
Before joining KRON, Thorn was an anchor at WOWK in Charleston, W.V. for three years. He’s also worked at WVNS in Ghent, W.V. He started his career as a desk assistant at WCBS in New York.
