KREM Reporter Steps Away From Reporting to Compete in Miss America Pageant

KREM reporter DanaMarie McNicholl is saying goodbye to news for now to make a run for the Miss America title.

McNicholl was crowned Miss Washington last week. She has been competing in pagents since she was 14 years old.

“If you couldn’t already tell today was really special. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off my media tour! It was bitter sweet saying goodbye to my @krem2 family who I have loved working with every single day,” she said in an Instagram post.

McNicholl sat down with her station to talk about the journey ahead. She started at KREM in 2017. She is a graduate of Gonzaga University.
