Mary Benton is taking a leave of absence from KPRC as she prepares to undergo surgery, Houston media blogger Mike McGuff reports.
The veteran reporter will be off the air for four to six weeks after her upcoming surgery to treat anemia, she tells McGuff.
“This means I will miss February ratings and, as I mark my 20th anniversary with Channel 2 this year, I hate to be away from our viewers and important stories in our community,” Benton said. “I look forward to getting back on my feet and back to reporting for Channel 2.”
