KPIX-KBCW anchor Veronica De La Cruz says a fish bite has kept her off the air since she returned from vacation in Thailand.
The SFGate reports the evening anchor was snorkling while visiting family when an exotic fish attacked her leg.
“We were snorkeling and I was floating above a bunch of tropical fish. I noticed one in particular—a black one with different rainbow colors—eight to 12 inches long, seemed particularly agitated. She kept swimming past us back and forth until finally she backed up as far as she could and charged for me,” she told the paper.

The bite broke skin, but luckily the fish was not poisonous. Cruz is expected to return to the desk soon.
