Suffering from a kidney disorder, KOMO reporter Elizabeth Dinh is asking the Seattle community for help finding a kidney donor.
14 months ago, Dinh was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, KOMO reports, and she has been looking for a donor among friends and family since November 2010 but hasn’t been able to find one.
Now, as Dinh’s chance of kidney failure increases, she is using Facebook and Twitter to try and find a donor.
“While I can still function daily, my doctors and I know that one day my kidneys will stop working,” Dinh said. “I’d like to receive the transplant before my kidneys fail.”
The donor needs to have blood type O and be in good health.
“This is Liz,” Dinh’s “Help Liz” Facebook page reads. “She is awesome. Let’s help her find a kidney donor.”
Dinh has been with KOMO since October 2010. She works as a general assignment reporter, usually appearing on the station’s morning newscasts.
