KNXV Wins National Emmy for Investigative Series

Phoenix ABC affiliate KNXV took home a National Emmy Wednesday night for one of its investigative series.

The Scripps-owned station won in the Regional News Story: Investigative Reporting category at the 37th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards hosted by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in New York City.

KNXV won for its multi-part investigative series reported by Dave Biscobing called Arizona’s Dental Dangers. The series looked at licensed Dentists with repeated malpractice suits, criminal records and permanent patient injuries, including deaths.

“KNXV’s dogged approach to reporting made for a compelling story for our audiences and resonated with state lawmakers,” said Rich Boehne, chairman, president and CEO of Scripps. “We’re incredibly proud of the Phoenix team and the work that our journalists do every day in uncovering important stories in their communities.”
