KIRO Chief Meteorologist Says He’s Leaving TV for Family

Sam Argier says he’s leaving Seattle CBS affiliate KIRO to move closer to family in the Southwest.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I’ve had at KIRO over the past seven years,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “Thank you so much for welcoming me into your homes on television and for interacting with me here on social media. I wouldn’t have been able to do this job if it wasn’t for all of you. Thank you!”

He started at KIRO in 2008. His first job was at KMIR in Palm Springs, Calif.

Argier went on to say he’s “jumping into the world of commercial real estate in my hometown of Las Vegas. It will be a change from tracking cold fronts, but it’s a great career that will give me normal working hours.”

“I couldn’t be happier to announce that my friend and colleague Morgan Palmer will be taking over the evening weather duties,” said Argier. “He is a fantastic meteorologist, and I wish him nothing but the best in the new position.”
