KING reporter Ted Land is being honored for saving a co-worker’s life earlier this year.

A few friends were having dinner when former reporter Alex Rozier started chocking while eating meatballs.

Land stepped in and performed the Heimlich maneuver. After two chest pumps, he was able to dislodge the food and clear Rozier’s airways, saving his life.

The Red Cross awarded Land with the Certificate of Merit. He had just undergone life-saving training at the time.
