Just weeks after KIII‘s general manager Dan Robbins announced his retirement, Tegna has named a new general manager.

The company announced today that Bruce Cummings will expand his role at the company and oversee the station in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Currently, Cummings is the vice president at Tegna and oversees several Texas stations including KBMT in Beaumont, KCEN, KAGS, KYTX, KIDY and KXVA.

“For more than two decades, Bruce has led stations by promoting an audience-first approach and commitment to community. He will continue to do that in Corpus Christi and build on KIII’s already strong position in the community,” said Peter Diaz, executive vice president of media operations.

Cummings was named general manager of KBMT in 2012 and vice president at Tegna in 2017.
