KHOU Signs Lease; Set to Move Into Building in Fall 2019

KHOU has finally found a new home.

The Tegna-owned station is Houston inked a deal today to occupy three floors and 43,000 square feet in a high-rise building near in the Galleria District.

KHOU will occupy three floors that will include two studios, two control rooms, a newsroom, and sales and executive offices.

“We’re delighted to have found a new, centrally located home for KHOU. 5718 Westheimer’s location near the Galleria District offers us ample studio and office space,” said Susan McEldoon, president and general manager of KHOU. “We’re grateful for the support of Houston Public Media, who stepped up to provide us with our temporary home after our building flooded due to Hurricane Harvey.”

The CBS affiliate has been operating out of a temporary space since Harvey flooded the old building.

The station plans to move into the new space in 2019.
