Deeda Payton, anchor/reporter at Austin CBS affiliate KEYE, announced via Facebook she’ll be leaving the station–and television news at the end of the month. “I’ve been fortunate enough to interview some of the most fascinating people, work with the best in the biz & make lifelong friends, but it’s time for a new challenge,” she wrote.
Payton will be a general manager at Community Impact Newspaper in Central Austin. Payton starts her new job December first. Her last day on air at KEYE is November 30.
