KERO Brings On Jim Doty as New General Manager

Scripps has hired Jim Doty as the vice president, general manager and director of sales at KERO, the ABC affiliate in Bakersfield, Calif.

Doty comes to California from Johnstown, Pa., where he was the general manager at WJAC.

“Jim’s wealth of experience in local media sales and management will help bolster the work of our strong team in Bakersfield,” said Brian Lawlor, president of local media.

With 32 years in advertising and media, Doty previously worked as general sales manager at KPTM/KXVO in Omaha, Neb., and other stations across the country.

He will begin May 1.
