Meredith has made a switch at its Kansas City stations, KCTV and KSMO.

Mike Cukyne, who has been general manager for the last 3 years, was replaced by Chuck Poduska, who has been with Meredith, in various positions, for 35 years.

“Chuck’s combination of station management experience and Local Media Group oversight provides an outstanding formula for success in Kansas City,” said Paul Karpowicz, Meredith Local Media Group President. “He intimately understands the challenges and growth drivers of local television stations, coupled with a deep knowledge of the larger group strategy.”

Cukyne had been SVP of Digital Media for Meredith’s Local Media Group before being named GM in 2015. Poduska was most recently VP of Finance for Meredith’s local stations. He’s previously held roles at WOFL/WOGX, and worked 15 years at KCTV as business manager.

“I am eager to return to our Kansas City duopoly and use my market knowledge and experience to grow ratings and revenue,” said Poduska. “We have a framework for increased success in place, and I look forward to working with the team.”
