KCRA Adds to News Team and 10:00 PM Show

KCRA_3_NBC_ (1)Starting Monday, Sacramento NBC affiliate KCRA will broadcast a full hour on sister station KQCA at 10:00 p.m. The station has also added five to its news team.

“Based on the momentum and growth we’ve experienced in our 10pm newscast on My58, we believe our audience is looking for more news at 10 o’clock,” said KCRA 3 news director Lori Waldon. “I am excited about the new members joining our KCRA News Team and the depth they will bring to our storytelling and our newscasts.”

Rob Malcolm has been added as co-anchor of the KQCA 10:00 p.m. news alongside Kellie DeMarco. He will also report for KCRA. Malcolm comes from CTV in Toronto, Canada. He’s also worked at Global Television in Toronto, WNYW in New York and WDIV in Detroit.

The weekend anchor team features two new faces in Kathy Park and Brian Heap. Park joined KCRA from WJLA in Washington, D.C. Heap comes from KWCH in Wichita, Kan. He’s also worked at WPTY in Memphis, KVIA in El Paso and KTVZ in Bend, Ore. Both Park and Heap will also report for KCRA 3 News at Ten on KQCA and KCRA 3 News at 11PM weekdays.

The station also added Michelle Dapper as sports reporter and anchor and Linda Mumma as a reporter for the Modesto bureau. Dapper comes from KHQ in Spokane, Wash. She has also worked at KEZI in Eugene, Ore., while Mumma comes north from KFSN in Fresno.
