KCBS Airs Internal Zoom Meeting Instead of Local Weather Forecast

Los Angeles CBS owned station KCBS made a mistake we can all relate to in this era of the pandemic.

When CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King tossed to local stations for the 7:16 a.m. weather hit yesterday, a control room employee hit the wrong button and aired an internal Zoom meeting instead of the usual 30-second local weather report.

Deadline, which first reported the story, said “the topics discussed during the 30-second snippet of the meeting included cactuses and a pitch for a Duran Duran interview tied to their new album.”

Luckily for viewers and KCBS staffers alike, the Zoom call only aired in the L.A. market.
