KCAU Appoints Sports Director to News Anchor, Adds New Sports Director

By Andrew Gauthier

After 24 years serving as KCAU‘s sports director, Tim Seaman (right) is sliding his chair over a bit to co-anchor the station’s nightly newscasts.

The Sioux City ABC-affiliate announced this week that Seaman would replace longtime anchor Larry Wentz on the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts. Wentz is currently recovery from liver transplant surgery.

With Seaman moving to news anchor, KCAU has tapped Travis Morgan, a veteran of the Sioux City market, as his successor on the sports desk.

Most recently, Morgan served as the sports director at KMTV in Omaha. Prior to moving to Nebraska, he worked as a sports reporter and anchor at Sioux City’s KTIV and KMEG.

“Adding Travis to the Channel 9 Eyewitness News Team, with his passion for Siouxland sports, will ensure our viewers continue to get the quality sports coverage they have come to expect,” said KCAU news director Carla Kreegar.
