KBTX General Manager Resigns

KBTX general manager Mike Wright has resigned from the station in Bryan, Texas.

According to The Eagle, he’s been in broadcasting for 46 years starting in radio at the age of 11.

He joined the Gray owned CBS affiliate in 1991 as a national sales manager and transitioned into an on-air role as a the station’s morning show anchor. In 2003, he became the general manager and was named Broadcast of the Year by the Texas Association of Broadcasters.

Lori Bruffett, who has been at the station for more than 30 years, will transition into the general manager and sales manager role.

“We’re sad to see him go and wish him well,” Bruffett said, noting Wright would continue to be a presence in the community.

His last day was Thursday.
