KARK chief meteorologist Keith Monahan is back on-air on a limited basis after a health scare two weeks ago.
Monahan announced his return on Twitter with a simple, “I’m back…”
He’s been off the air since March 9, when he suffered a minor stroke while giving his weathercast. At the time, he began fumbling for words and then walked off camera and ended his forecast.
In a two shot at the weather board during the 4 p.m. show yesterday, Monahan told Caitrin Assaf that he “kinda got lost” when it happened.
Monahan said he spent a couple nights in the ICU and said that he was “a little bit nervous” because being back was “like being on the air for the first time.”
“So you’re going to have to bear with me over the next couple of days as I kind of get the nervousness out and get back on track,” he said. “I’m lucky that it actually happened here.”
He then told Little Rock NBC station viewers to “do what the doctors tell you to when you get the first signs of a stroke. Whether you’re with family or with your friends or on the job or wherever. When you get those first signs make sure you take action quick.”
