Karen Minton Marks 30 Years at WSB

Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB celebrated meteorologist Karen Minton‘s 30th year at the station on Friday.

Minton started working at WSB in 1986. Friday morning, the station aired a video tribute and, later, held a luncheon in her honor, reports Atlanta Journal-Constitution media writer Rodney Ho.

She told Ho she got “a bit emotional” when she saw the video tribute. “My throat caught. It’s such a special place,” said Minton. “I love it so much and it just touched my heart they would do that.”

“She makes the forecast easy to understand,” said chief meteorologist Glenn Burns. “People can see she is genuinely concerned for their welfare and they appreciate that.” He also loves the chemistry she has with anchors Linda Stouffer and Fred Blankenship.
