Karen Dillon is joining Kansas City NBC affiliate KSHB as an investigative producer, Bottom Line Communications reports.
Dillon was laid off from The Kansas City Star in October after 22 years with the newspaper. She has won more than 30 national, local and regional journalism awards, according to Bottom Line.
“This is really an exciting day…I’ve been offered a dream job with KSHB’s hard-hitting award-winning investigative team to work as an investigative producer,” Dillon wrote on Facebook. “Thank you all for all your support after I was laid-off at The Kansas City Star.”
