KAPP Moves In with Local Newspaper

By Andrew Gauthier

KAPP, the ABC-affiliate in Yakima, WA, is moving in with the Yakima Herald-Republic.

After some recent downsizing, KAPP no longer needed all of the square footage at its old location so, beginning this week, it is operating out of a space in the Herald-Republic building that is being renovated to accommodate the station.

“Everyone is excited to get out of the big giant cave,” KAPP general manager Brian Paul Lubanski told the Herald-Republic about the move.

The move doesn’t mean that KAPP will begin collaborating with the newspaper, though.

Much of KAPP’s operations are now based in southeastern Washington, where KVEW, its semi-satellite station, is located.
