At 10:00 p.m. on Friday night, anchor Kaley O’Kelley made her surprise debut appearance on KTVT, the CBS-owned station in Dallas.
As Uncle Barky’s Bytes reports, O’Kelley wasn’t supposed to start until tonight, when she will officially succeed Karen Borta, who moved to mornings a few weeks ago.
“We couldn’t wait,” said incumbent co-anchor Doug Dunbar. “It came down to rock, paper, scissors. You lost — and you’re on the air right now.”
Dunbar was tweeting up a storm before and after O’Kelley’s debut, with his last tweet referencing the duo’s charming toilet humor:
“And that’s a wrap @kaleyokelley debuts and we work in three poop references. I think we’ll keep her!! G’nite!”
Prior to joining KTVT, O’Kelley worked at independent Phoenix station KTVK. Look for O’Kelley’s official KTVT debut tonight at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 p.m.
