WBBH director of meteorology, Jim Reif died last night after suffering a traumatic head injury in a bicycling accident Sunday.
Reif hit a sign Sunday while riding his bike and hit his head on the curb.
He was recently engaged to be married.
Reif started his TV career in 1979 in Fort Myers, FL. In 1999, Reif started working for WBBH’s parent company Waterman Broadcasting when he was named chief meteorologist at Fort Myers ABC affiliate WZVN. He is the director of meteorology for both WBBH and WZVN.
According to the Fort Myers NBC affiliate, Reif died last night at 10:38 p.m. He was 62.
