Jeff Lawson to Announce Retirement From WLOX

By Mark Joyella

Longtime WLOX news anchor Jeff Lawson will return from an extended medical leave tonight, but only to announce he’s retiring from the job he’s held for two decades.

Lawson was diagnosed last year with Bell’s Palsy, which causes partial facial paralysis and can, for some, be permanent. He has not been on the anchor desk for a year.

Tonight, the Biloxi ABC and CBS affiliate reports, Lawson will talk about his condition and then deliver “a special message for the viewers of South Mississippi.”
