Janet Wu will join New York CBS-owned station WCBS. She’ll also fill-in at KYW in Philadelphia and contribute to CBS Newspath.
Wu has worked at Boston NBC affiliate WHDH for 17 years.
“I’m sad to leave,” Wu told the Boston Herald. “I still love spending time in Boston, but I’m excited about some other things coming down the pike.”

Wu said she still plans to spend half the week in Boston and the other half in New York. She plans to keep her gig as an adjunct professor at Emerson College and to keep doing her charity work here. She also does freelance travel writing, which she hopes to continue.
“Basically, I’m trying to fashion a life that’s not standard,” she said.
