Jacksonville Station Loses 2 to Buyout

By Kevin Eck

Steve Smith and Roger Weeder have opted for the TEGNA buyout.

Smith is a meteorologist and Weeder is a reporter for Jacksonville NBC affiliate WTLV and ABC affiliate WJXX.

“While I’m very happy for both of them, I’m sad for those of us who will miss seeing them every day both in the newsroom and on the air,” said GM Rob Mennie. “Steve and Roger have played vital roles and have left a unique impression on FCN. Both of them have given more than 25 years of their lives to help make this community better. They will always be part of the First Coast News family.”

Today is their last day on-air.
