During last night’s 6 p.m. newscast on WJAX, anchor John Bachman may have let viewers see what he thought about a man who punched a swan.
While co-anchor Tenikka Hughes was reading a story about a guy who had been arrested for punching a swan at a local park, the Jacksonville Fox-affiliate’s control room took Bachman’s camera revealing Bachman doing the international symbol for ‘I’m smoking a joint.’
>UPDATE: News director Bob Longo told TVSpy, “John was caught on camera making a gesture he thought was off camera. It was wrong, unprofessional and disrespectful of our viewers and our co-workers here at Action News Jax. John will address this with co-workers and viewers of the 6pm newscast today. We are sorry for this unfortunate action. It takes away from the solid journalism Action News Jax strives to deliver daily.”

Video of the impersonation was posted to local viewer’s twitter page, but has since been removed.
Unofficially, Bachman responded on twitter.
