Jackie Hyland doesn’t work at WRAL anymore.

“We appreciate her 3+ years of service and wish her the best as she pursues new opportunities,” gm Steven Hammel told TVSpy. “A permanent replacement will be named in the coming weeks.”

“Many of you know that I experienced some vocal issues that started towards the end of last year,” she wrote on the Raleigh, N.C. CBS affiliate’s website in April after coming back from voice problems. “I was diagnosed with Dysphonia. It is the medical term for disorders of the voice. I have been working on getting better ever since.”

She started her career as a production assistant at News 12 Long Island. She then worked at WPIX in New York, WFAA in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas, and at WCBS, CNBC and ABC News in New York.
