Tribune Broadcasting has made it official: Ashley Messina is WDCW‘s vice president and general manager. Messina has been leading the CW-affiliate on an interim basis since September.
“Ashley has earned this appointment by leading the station for the last several months and with her proven track record as general sales manager,” said Tribune Broadcasting president Jerry Kersting. “She has a keen sense for what it takes to bring the station to the next level while encouraging a sense of teamwork and collaboration with the staff.”
Messina assumed the interim role after then-VP/GM Eric Meyrowitz left to run CW’s flagship station WPIX. Messina joined the station in 2001 and eventually worked her way up to general sales manager before being handed the GM position upon Meyrowitz’s departure.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity and am fortunate to work with the strong staff of WDCW-TV,” said Messina. “It’s the people here that have made this station so successful.”
