It’s Official: Amanpour Leaving CNN for ‘This Week’

ABC News announced Thursday that it had poached one of CNN’s biggest stars, Christiane Amanpour, and named her the host of “This Week,” the networks Sunday morning public affairs program.

Currently the chief international correspondent for CNN, Ms. Amanpour said she would give “This Week” a global spin.

“With Christiane we have the opportunity to provide our audiences with something different on Sunday mornings,” David Westin, the president of ABC News, wrote in an e-mail message to staff members. “We will continue to provide the best in interviews and analysis about domestic politics and policies. But now we will add to that an international perspective.” More…
