It’s Cincinnati Anchor Lisa Cooney’s Last Day

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Longtime Cincinnati anchor Lisa Cooney is throwing in the towel after 30 years at WLWT today.

Earlier this year, Cooney spoke to WVXU just after her anniversary. She explained that waking up at 2:30 a.m. every morning has taken a toll.

“I’m tired.” she said. “Thirty years is enough. I’m ready to go. I want to take some time off. I want to get some sleep. And plan the next chapter of my life.”

Today is her last day on the air with the NBC affiliate.

Cooney started at the station in 1998 as a part-time writer. She rose through the ranks to reporter and then to anchor in 2004.
