It’s a Return to WLEX for New General Manager Andrew Shenkan

WLEX, the Scripps owned station in Lexington, Ky., has a new vice president and general manager.

Andrew Shenkan is currently the vice president and general manager of KATC in Lafayette, La. where he’s been working since 2006.

“Andrew has a record of leading high-performing teams and a keen understanding of the audiences he will be serving in Lexington,” said Brian Lawlor, president of local media. “His deep experience in broadcasting will help drive WLEX’s continued success.”

This is a return to WLEX for Shenkan, where he was the director of sales from 2002-2005. He’s held a variety of sales management positions with WBRZ in Baton Rouge, La., WCJB in Gainesville, Fla., and WCTI in New Bern, N.C. He also worked as an account executive for Blair Television.

He starts his new role on April 6.
