It’s a homecoming for KGUN-KWBA’s new vice president and general manager Kara McNeely.

McNeely comes to the Scripps-owned station in Phoenix, Ariz. from KABC but she started her television career at WCPO, the Scripps-owned station in Cincinnati.

“My career began at Scripps and returning is such an honor,” said McNeely.

At KABC, the ABC station in Los Angeles, she served as the vice president of brand strategy.

“Kara brings a tremendous amount of experience in local television—including leadership roles in large marketing of Miami and Los Angeles—that will benefit our duopoly in Tucson,” said Brian Lawlor, president of local media.

McNeely has also held management positions with NBC local media, Tribune and Granite Broadcasting.

She begins her new role March 4.
